Kevin started racing go carts in 1982 and with some good coaching from Tim Dorning he won more features and heats than one can remember, in fact Kevin was one feature short of a perfect season in 1986, Kevin continued racing carts until 1992. Kevin was also a long time crew member on the Dorning, Ohsterhault team.
Thanks to Ken and Casey Morden, Kevin was able to build his first mini legend winning the 2001 and 2002 seasons. In 2003 Willy Craven and Wayne McDiarmid stepped in and revamped the racing program with a faster than ever car winning the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
In 2006 Kevin drove for Norm Lynch and won the opening night for the return of Capital City Speedway, multiple engine failures took them out of the points chase. In 2007 he drove for A.J. Dickie and this was his first time in a legends car where he went on and finished 2nd in the feature. Next time out Kevin won the feature, and also won the National qualifier in the Master division.
After considerable research, Willy Craven and Kevin Foisy purchased the best legend car they could find, the results from their first two races late in the 2007 race season gave them every indication that they had made a good choice. Kevin was able to race their #55 car in Peterborough Ontario twice before the race season closed. Kevin's first race with only 5 laps of practice on a new track in their new car netted them a 4th place finish in a field 19 cars. One week later Kevin took a 2nd in the first heat and a win in the second heat, in the feature an aggressive local competitor resulted in the failure of the rear bumper on the #55 taking it out of the race. Kevin's remark at the close of the 2007 race season.... "Can't wait for the 2008 season".
It was in April of 1992 that the first Legends Car was unveiled at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. The concept of creating a fun and affordable "spec" class of racing for anyone to participate in was born.
President and General Manager of LMS, H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler and Elliott Forbes-Robinson, famed road racing champion, designed these 5/8-scale fiberglass full-fendered versions of the famed NASCAR modifieds, driven by legendary drivers such as Fireball Roberts, Buck Baker, Curtis Turner, Speedy Thompson and Banjo Matthews.
